Amodino China delivers a museum-grade animatronic Brachiosaurus for a Peruvian science exhibit, combining scientific accuracy with lifelike animatronic technology.
Amodino China, a leading manufacturer of custom animatronic dinosaurs and museum-grade prehistoric replicas, has completed production of a life-size animatronic Brachiosaurus model for a science museum in Peru. The exhibit is now set to ship to South America, marking a major milestone in the company’s growing portfolio of international cultural and educational projects.
Brachiosaurus: The Iconic Giant Herbivore of the Late Jurassic
The Brachiosaurus is one of the most famous giant herbivorous dinosaurs of the Late Jurassic period, and also ranks among the tallest dinosaurs ever discovered.
Its most defining trait is its longer forelimbs compared to its hind limbs, giving the body a distinctive sloped, “leaning hill” shape. This unique build allowed its long, straight neck to reach heights of up to 12 meters (nearly 4 stories tall), enabling it to feed on treetop foliage that was out of reach for most other herbivores.
Truly massive in size, adult Brachiosaurus individuals could grow to over 25 meters in length and weigh between 50 to 80 tons. Its thick, pillar-like legs were perfectly adapted to support this enormous frame. With a relatively small head and spoon-shaped teeth, the Brachiosaurus was perfectly evolved to strip leaves from the tallest trees with ease.
Designed to strict paleontological standards, the 15-meter-tall, 30-meter-long Brachiosaurus is the centerpiece of the museum’s upcoming “Jurassic Giants” exhibit. Built with industry-leading animatronic technology, the model features:
- Slow, natural neck and head movements
- Simulated breathing with rising/falling skin
- Scientifically accurate roars and vocalizations
- Ultra-detailed, hand-painted skin textures and scales
This level of realism ensures the Brachiosaurus meets both the museum’s educational requirements and its goal to deliver an immersive, awe-inspiring experience for visitors of all ages.
“Creating a museum-grade Brachiosaurus requires a balance of scientific accuracy, engineering precision, and artistic detail,” said the Project Lead at Amodino China. “Our team spent months refining every element—from the motion programming to the color palette—to bring this iconic dinosaur to life while adhering to the museum’s strict specifications. This project highlights our ability to deliver high-quality animatronic dinosaurs for science museums worldwide.”
Founded in 2008, Amodino China specializes in custom animatronic dinosaurs, prehistoric creatures, and themed exhibit solutions for museums, theme parks, zoos, and educational institutions across the globe. With over 18 years of experience in design, manufacturing, and international shipping, the company has established itself as a trusted partner for large-scale cultural projects, particularly in South America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
Upon arrival in Peru, the Brachiosaurus will be installed as the main attraction of the museum’s new permanent exhibit, where it will join other animatronic dinosaur models to create a lifelike prehistoric ecosystem. The display aims to engage children and families in STEM education, fostering curiosity about paleontology and natural history through interactive, hands-on experiences.
